Because we take your comfort and the quality of our work very seriously, we have purchased both an Erbium:YAG (tooth or hard tissue) laser and a Nd:YAG (gum or soft tissue) laser in our practice.

Erbium:YAG Laser:
The Erbium laser allows our patients to enjoy the procedure of having teeth filled comfortably without anesthesia (novacaine), needles and numbness. The Erbium laser is FDA approved to remove healthy and decayed tooth structure and is used in place of the dental drill to do restorations such as fillings. We are confident that our patients will enjoy the "Popcorn Popping" sound of the Erbium laser in comparison to the shrill wining noise of the dental drill.

Nd:YAG Laser:
The Nd:YAG laser, with its remarkable speed, reduced need of anesthesia and increased comfort for patients makes this laser a patient friendly treatment of periodontal disease and biopsies without any scalpels and sutures needed and minimal or no pain medicine needed. If untreated, periodontal disease causes bone loss and teeth loose their support. The laser uses a small amount of light energy which is directed through a small fiber that is gently used on the gum around the tooth. This light energy aids in reducing the bacteria associated with the disease and removes the diseased gum tissue itself. Use of the laser results in a fibrin clot that leads quickly to the body healing the area naturally.
