Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a procedure that creates a "whiter smile". The tooth whitening system utilizes a whitening gel that is applied to your teeth to create a brighter whiter shade to your preference. Smokers and coffee and tea drinkers often get stained teeth; these as well as others who desire whiter teeth usually get impressive long lasting results in teeth whitening. If at some point later re-staining or darkening of teeth occurs, the same trays can be used with a "touch up treatment" of the same or similar whitening gel for much less time to quickly re-whiten the teeth.

There are two systems of tooth whitening, In Home or In Office.

In Home – After an examination of your teeth and gums for good oral health, an impression is taken to make custom-fitted trays. When the trays are complete, instructions will be given to you to show how to use your tooth whitening system. A convenient choice of wearing your customized tooth whitening trays (with the agent in them) an hour or two a day or overnight while you sleep will need to be made. Depending on the whitening agent and duration of application, this process takes a few days to a few weeks. Periodic exams during and following your tooth whitening treatment will be necessary for the Dental Team to evaluate your progress and oral health.

In Office – After an examination of your teeth and gums for good oral health the Doctor can perform a one visit, in-office tooth whitening technique by using a whitening gel that is applied directly to the teeth and enhanced by a laser or high intensity optical light.
