Local Dental Office attends "Academy of Laser Dentistry 10th Year Anniversary Conference" in Destin, Florida.
Dr. Rod Donaldson and three of his staff members attended this year's conference along with 375 other registrants from 21 different countries.

Dr. Donaldson has been a member of The Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) for four (4) years. The ALD is an international organization devoted to laser dentistry and includes clinicians, academician and researchers in all laser wavelenghts. The Academy is devoted to clinical education, research, and the development of standards and guidelines for the safe and effective use of dental laser technology.

They joined an international group of leading clinicians, academicians and researchers to exchange ideas, learn about recent US FDA approved applications and to advance their knowledge of lasers in dentistry. Topics discussed were Laser Soft Tissue Surgical Applications, Diagnosis, Restorative Dentistry, and Endodontics and Periodontal Surgery and Therapy. Participation courses on Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapy; Soft Tissue Surgery and Lasers; Digital Certification Processes presented many opportunities for experienced laser practitioners and those with new interest- to learn about and share in their evolving endeavors to deliver the finest dental care available to patients. The group participated in daily How-To Interactive Discussion Sessions, during which they were
able to raise questions and learn first-hand from experienced laser users; this open sharing of information stimulated the learning experience. Conference attendees had the opportunity to view vendor exhibits and attend the Exhibitor's Showcase Workshops and Seminars Series to learn about the latest technological advancements concerning dental lasers and clinical applications.

Just another example of how we at 21st Century Dentistry are staying on the technological edge of dentistry.

Camera and Dental Photography
We have upgraded our camera & dental photography system in the office. We now use a true state of the art intra oral camera that shows better detail than our old camera system and is more patient friendly. Since it is more friendly, we can utilize it more frequently to show patients who are interested in seeing what is going on in their mouth. Patients can see what their teeth look like now, why or why not they need to do certain procedures, what it looks like at different stages of the procedure as well as the results when finished. Basically it gives the patient a chance to see their teeth as if they were sitting on the end of the dental mouth mirror looking at their teeth with binoculars ranging with 40x (magnified 40 times natural size).
